I'm Thaís, a Brazilian illustrator and mixed-media artist based in Germany.
I grew up in a charming historic town in southern Minas Gerais, Brazil, nestled among mountains and waterfalls. My childhood was filled with the bright colors and lively nature of this region, which is also home to the famous Royal Road—a path that once connected small towns during the 18th-century gold rush.
The baroque churches, colonial buildings, and tropical landscapes have always sparked my imagination, and that world is a constant inspiration that I celebrate through the warm colors and textures in my work.
Growing up in a family of artists, creativity has always been a part of my life. As a child, birthdays meant receiving crayons, colored paper, and endless art supplies that I took with me wherever I went. This led me to study Fine Arts, and a few years later, I moved to Germany to pursue an M.F.A. in Media Art and Design.
Over the years, I’ve had the chance to work with publishers, animation studios, and on several educational projects with the United Nations.
I especially love illustrating eerie stories, folktales, adventures across whimsical worlds, and, of course, exuberant nature.
